City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh told the City Council Monday that the city and the YMCA will look to close the city pool in mid-August.
“We’re kind of looking at mid-August, if everything goes well, that we would wind the pool down for the season,” he said. “With some colleges going back a week early, it starts to get a little bit tough to make sure that we have good staffing.”
He reported that since opening last month, the pool operation has gone smoothly.
“The pool has gone well, knock on wood,” he said. “We’re continuing to get good numbers, and the staff has done a nice job down there. There have been no issues to speak of.”
