Donald D. Dayton, 94, died Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington. At his request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. The body has been deeded to the University of Iowa College of Medicine. Later burial of the cremains will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Mr. Dayton was born Dec. 29, 1925, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Jesse N. and Alta (Ledman) Dayton. He married Ethel V. Scalf Sept. 21, 1944.
Survivors include: granddaughter: Kaela Alecock; and two great-grandchildren: Kamari and Riley all of Savanah, Ga.; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Don in death were his parents; wife: Ethel in 2019; one son: Jim; four brothers: Pat, Mike, John and David; and one sister: Bernice.
