Douglas Michael Green, 50, of Nichols, passed away at his home on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2020, surrounded by his family.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, 2020, at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Lone Tree.  Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Soldiers for Christ or the Good Neighborhood Fellowship in Keota in memory of Doug. Douglas Michael Green was born on Oct. 7, 1969, in Iowa City, the son of Donald and Rebecca (Schreiber) Green.  He was a 1988 graduate of Lone Tree High School and continued his education at Kirkwood Community College.  On June 9, 1990, Doug was united in marriage to Kari Elizabeth Sandburg at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lone Tree.  Doug worked at A&J Associates in North Liberty, PSI in Wellman from 2001 – 2018 and side construction jobs from 2018 to present.  He was a member of the Soldiers for Christ Motorcycle Ministry and the Good Neighborhood Fellowship in Keota.  Doug enjoyed woodworking, biking, motorcycle ministry, hunting and spending time with his granddaughters.

Doug will be deeply missed by his wife: Kari of Nichols; his children: Kalyn (Ben) Probst of West Liberty, Dylan Green and fianceé Kelsie Stoddard of Cedar Rapids, and Dalton Green of Iowa City; two grandchildren: Kinsley and Eliza Probst; 12 nieces and nephews; one brother: Phillip Green of Coralville; and one sister: Deborah (Michael) Schaffer of West Liberty.

Doug was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; aunts and uncles; nephew: Michael Eugene Schaffer Jr.; and niece: Dairy Rose Schaffer.
