Gary D. Schrock, 55, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2020, in East Union Cemetery, Kalona, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spring Valley Bible Camp in Muscatine. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Celebration of life service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2020, at Calvary Church in Muscatine. Visitation will follow the service, and will carry on until 8:30 p.m., at the church.
Gary was born on January 15, 1965, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Robert and Ruby Miller Schrock. He married Joy Lynn Sissel on August 31, 1991, at Calvary Baptist Church in Muscatine.
Gary graduated from Iowa Mennonite School in 1983 and attended one year at Bethany College. He worked as the community liaison for New Hope Foundation. Gary was a member of the East Union Mennonite Church and Calvary Church. He loved cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, teaching Bible Study, mentoring, photography, acting, networking within the local community, listening to Bluegrass music, and exploring the outdoors with his wife.
Gary will be waiting for his wife, Joy of Muscatine; two sons: Davis Robert (Betsy Aguilar) Schrock of Colorado and Caleb Logan Schrock of Cedar Rapids; one granddaughter: River Schrock; three brothers: Allen (Kathy) Schrock of Cedar Rapids, Norman (Joyce) Schrock of Kalona, and Dallas (Rose) Schrock of Kalona; two sisters: Norma Schrock of Kalona and Alice (Joey) Hochstetler of Crawfordsville; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews; mother-in-law: Virginia Sissel of Muscatine.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother: Gail Schrock and father-in-law: Arthur Sissel.
