Johnson County to start mailing ballot requests

Posted

The first group of absentee ballot requests from the Johnson County Auditor’s Office will be arriving at voter’s homes soon.

Voters in rural Johnson County, the outlying small cities, and in senior living complexes will receive their postage-paid absentee requests beginning next week.

The absentee request forms will be pre-filled with the voter’s information. If all information is correct the voter only needs to sign and return the form.

If information is not correct the voter is asked to fill in the correct information, sign and return the form. Ballots will be mailed beginning Oct. 5.

Voters who have moved and did not update their voter registration address will not receive the pre-filled mailing.

The office will mail these voters a blank request form, which they may use to both update their address and request a ballot.
