Things were not looking good for Lone Tree.

The Lady Lions were down by one point to Louisa-Muscatine, and the clock was clicking down the final seconds of the game.

The ball was in the hands of hot-shooting Holley Johnson, but Louisa-Muscatine anticipated she would get the ball and double-teamed her.

Johnson had no shot.

With two seconds left, she flipped the ball to Maddie Jacque at the top of the key. Jacque turned and threw an off-balance shot toward the basket.

The ball bounced on the rim and went in. The Lone Tree gym erupted.

The Lady Lions had beat Louisa-Muscatine, 49-48.

The Lady Lions mobbed Jacque.

The game had been back and forth from the start.

Louisa-Muscatine led 18-17 going into the locker room at the half.

It stayed close the rest of the game.

Johnson finished the game with 16 points. Jacque was right behind with 15.

Josie Mullinnix contributed nine points and pulled down six rebounds. Kasey Chown had five points, Maddie McCullough three and Sara Branson one point.

Louisa-Muscatine stayed in the game behind the play of Hailey Sanders who had 18 points and 19 rebounds.
