On Thursday, July 30, 2020, Mildred Elizabeth Lemley, loving mother and grandmother, sister and aunt passed away suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 92.  Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020, at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Lone Tree.  Due to COVID-19, social distancing standards will be in place and all in attendance will be required to wear a mask. If you arrive without, one will be provided.  Burial will held at a later date in the Lone Tree Cemetery.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Mildred.  Online condolences for the Lemley family may be sent to www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Millie was born Aug. 12, 1927, in Wellman, Iowa, to John and Pearl Canott. She attended school in Wellman and taught at a country school there. She married Keith Lewis Lemley Dec. 1, 1945. They raised one son, Phillip. 

Millie was head cook at Williamsburg elementary school for 35 years. She loved to paint with Bob Ross; some of those paintings hang on her wall today. After retirement they moved to Lone Tree, where she enjoyed needlework and cooking. She knitted many hats for newborns and for the local school. She enjoyed making knitted items for family.

Once a month she fixed a liver and onion meal for friends and family. She was an active member of the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree. Millie dearly loved not only her family, but also her church family.

Millie will be deeply missed by her son: Phil Lemley; four grandchildren: Katherine and Tom Lemley, Jana Lemley Lower, and Alysa Lemley Coppinger; 12 great-grandchildren: Savant Suykerbuyk; Caroline, Merritt and Avery Lemley; Nick Gluba; Michael Lemley; Kyra Banos, Gabe, Kellan, and Konner Coppinger; Katie Recker and Tom Lower; 10 great-great grandchildren: Daniel and Joseph Recker; Savanna and Carsyn Shoemaker; Grayden, River, and Jackson Lemley; Mary Gluba; Charles and Henry Lower; and one sister: Evelyn Leigh.

Millie was preceded in death by her mother: Pearl; father: John; two brothers: Francis and John; one sister: Virginia; a niece: Joann; and her husband: Keith.
