Republicans took Iowa Senate and House seats in local races. In Iowa Senate District 46, Williamsburg Republican Dawn Driscoll won against Oxford Democrat Kevin Kinney. In Iowa House District 92, Republican Heather Hora of Washington won against Democrat Eileen Beran of Kalona.
The Johnson County Board of Supervisors saw two Democrats elected: Jon Green, who was re-elected to a four-year term; and V Fixmer-Oraiz, a newcomer to the five-member board, who will also serve a four-year term.
Governor Kim Reynolds was re-elected to her second term; Senator Charles Grassley will retain his seat in the U.S. Senate. Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks will return to the U.S. House, representing District 1. Agriculture Secretary Mike Naig will retain his position, as will Secretary of State Paul Pate. All those re-elected are Republicans.
