Washington County 4-H County Council sponsored its 11th annual Washington County Spring Preview Cattle Show on April 20.
It was an Iowa Junior Beef Breeds Association sanctioned show,
In the market beef division, supreme champion went to Tanner Curtin of Oxford with Chianina steer. The $250 prize money was sponsored by Washington County Corn Growers Association.
Reserve champion market steer went to Sophie Sojka of Riverside with a crossbred steer. The $150 prize money was sponsored by Washington County Corn Growers Association.
Eighteen Washington County exhibitors participated in the show, with several of them earning top honors.
In the breeding division: Braydon Clough of Brighton earned champion Saler and Iris Peterson of Washington reserve champion Saler.
Brynn Younge of Wellman earned champion commercial heifer and then third overall breeding heifer.
In the market division, Sophie Sojka of Riverside earned the overall reserve champion market steer with a crossbred. Ryland Shalla of Riverside earned champion Maine Anjou steer.
