Details on the construction of a 2-story addition to the Pull’r Inn at the corn…
By Kalona News
Details on the construction of a 2-story addition to the Pull’r Inn at the corner of Highways 1 and 22 was announced this week by Phil Ropp, president of the Kalona motel.
“We are constructing the additional rooms to meet the growing needs of the community throughout the year,” Ropp commented.
Construction has already begun on the new addition which is located on the south side of the motel. It will have 17 rooms with interior hallway entrances.
Two rooms immediately west of the office in the current motel facility will be eliminated to make room for entrances to the addition. When completed, the motel will have 29 guest units.
Most of the rooms will have two queen size beds except for several rooms with king size beds.
“Tentative plans also call for one whirlpool suite with a king size bed,” noted Ropp. “There will also be one suite with two bedrooms and two units that will be handicapped accessible.”
The exterior of the addition will feature brick and stucco construction.
Once the addition is completed, the rooms in the old section will be renovated.
A spring completion date is projected. Chris Schlabach is the general contractor.
