Anthony B. Schaapveld, 51, of Lone Tree, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023, from 12-4 p.m.,. at North Park also known as Tank Park in Lone Tree. Anthony Blaine Schaapveld was born May 1, 1972, in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Leslie Wayne and Joyce Irene (Pool) Schaapveld. He was a 1990 graduate of Lone Tree High School.
Tony was united in marriage to Holly Riley and later divorced. He worked at various jobs including pizza delivery, Coralville Liquor Store, MCI and security for a car dealership in Iowa City. Tony enjoyed playing cards, Dungeon and Dragons, fishing, turkey hunting with his father, shooting sporting clays, bowling on leagues, singing and attending summer and church camp at Strawberry Point when he was younger.
Tony will be deeply missed by mother: Joyce Schaapveld of Lone Tree; children: Macey and Patrick; and siblings: Brett Schaapveld (Elizabeth Hunter) of Nichols, Ben (Julie) Schaapveld of Iowa City, Ryan (Rachel) Schaapveld of Cedar Rapids and Samantha Schaapveld (Dave Merten) of Mt. Pleasant.
