The annual Avenue of Flags will be in place in the Sharon Hill Cemetery from Friday, May 28 to Tuesday, June 1.
Members of the Alpha and Idris clubs will be assisted by members of the Mid-Prairie FFA Chapter for the flag installation Friday, starting at 9 a.m. Club members were asked to be at the cemetery by 8:30 a.m.
The flags and poles will be lowered Tuesday, June 1, starting at 10 a.m. and students from Mid-Prairie Middle School will assist.
Anyone wishing to help with the projects may help, and if one wishes to have a flag flown in memory of or in honor of a person, contact Jan Peterseim by Thursday, May 27, to make arrangements.

The City of Kalona officials remind residents that all flowers or decorative items not affixed to the gravestones in the Sharon Hill Cemetery must be removed by Friday, June 4. The move ensures better safety for those who mow the cemetery.
