Chantelle Danae Gingerich was born March 17, 1983, in Millersburg, Ohio, the daughter of Randall and Marilyn (Hershberger) Troyer. She graduated from Marantha Christian School in 2001.
Chantelle lived in Ohio, Indiana and ending up in Iowa. On May 17, 2014, Chantelle was united in marriage to Victor Gingerich at the Griner Church in Middlebury, Indiana. She was a member of the Cornerstone Community Church in Kalona. Chantelle was known as a gifted, funny, vibrant, and inviting personality who loved to laugh. She enjoyed bringing beauty and order into spaces and events through her decoration and organizational skills. She used these skills in making her home an inviting and beautiful place. She also was involved in numerous events such as coordinating weddings, heading up Pathways yearly carnival, decorating her church and in general bringing beauty and vitality to everything she touched. Chantelle loved to invest in the next generation and was a favorite counselor at Youth Fellowship Camp near Goshen, Indiana, for many years. She led Bible studies for young girls and was also involved in the Restore girls' retreat. She also brought her organizational skills into the Gingerich Tiling & Earthmoving office as an office manager. Chantelle was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive cancer in the beginning of April. She fought hard and loved her family right up to the end. Being a wife and mothering her little boys was one of her greatest passions and she will be deeply and profoundly missed.
Chantelle passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California at the age of 41 years.
Chantelle is survived by her husband: Victor and two sons: Tucker and Nicholas all of Kalona; parents: Randall and Marilyn (Troyer) of Walnut Creek Ohio; parents-in-law: Reagan and Lynn (Thomann) Gingerich of Kalona; a sister: Carissa (Troyer) Yoder and several nephews and nieces: Benjamin Yoder, Indigo Yoder, Zoe Yoder, Max Yoder, Mia Yoder, Eva Yoder, and Josiah Yoder of Sturgis, Michigan; sister-in-law: Heidi (Gingerich) and James Leezer and nieces: Autumn Leezer, Adelyn Leezer, and Lily Leezer of Wyaconda, Missouri; sister-in-law: Charity (Gingerich) and Jacob Snodgrass and nephews and nieces: Josiah Snodgrass, Mercy Ann Snodgrass, Seth Snodgrass of Keota, and brother-in-law: Benjamin and Tanisha (Stuzman) Gingerich and nephews and nieces: Verona Gingerich, Benaiah Gingerich, Micoma Gingerich, and Mishaela Gingerich of Reinholds, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law: Jon Yoder; and sister-in-law: Melanie Gingerich.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Cornerstone Community Church in Kalona. Burial will be at the Upper Deer Creek Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed on the Cornerstone Community Church website. Visitation will be from 12-8 p.m. where the family will greet friends from 3:30-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Cornerstone Community Church. A memorial fund has been set up for the Pathway Carnival.
