Filing deadline for candidates for two council positions and the mayor’s office is 4:30 p.m., Thursday, September 16.
Council terms expiring December 31 are those of David Droz and Jerry Kauffman. Droz chose not to seek re-election and Kauffman has obtained, but not yet filed nomination papers. It was reported that two others have obtained papers, but as of Tuesday none had been returned.
Mayor J.D. Boyd also decided against another term.
Nomination papers may be obtained from the city clerk’s office. A minimum of ten signatures is needed.
