City of Wellman
PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
The City of Wellman will hold a public hearing to discuss an application for water and sewer improvement funds from the lowa Economic Development Authority and to conduct a Community Development and Housing Needs Assessment for the application. The hearing will be held prior to the Council’s final action regarding the filing of the application. If successful, the funds will be used for the replacement of water mains along 4th Street, 5th Street, 6th Street, 11th Street, 1st Avenue, 6th Avenue, and 7th Avenue. This project is needed to replace aging and undersized water mains with 6-inch water mains.
Discussion at the public hearing will include how the need for the proposed activities were determined, the location of proposed activities, the source and amount of funding requested, the date the application will be submitted, and the portion of federal funds benefiting low-to-moderate income households. The Community Development and Housing Needs Assessment will review community priorities, how the priorities were determined, and gather additional public input.
The Public Hearing will be held December 2, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at Wellman City Hall, 316 8th Avenue, Wellman. The City of Wellman will conduct all project-related public hearings in a public building that is accessible to the disabled.
