The May 8 Cleanup Day, sponsored by the Kalona Area Chamber of Commerce and The Kalona News in cooperation with the City of Kalona and the Kalona Rotary Club, will provide residents with an opportunity to dispose of larger items.
No garbage will be accepted nor any paint, oil, hazardous waste or organic waste.
There will be rolloff units available, possibly in the downtown area or at the Kalona City Park where residents may bring items for disposal. There is no curbside pick up.
Fees
Car tires, $l tag (reg. $2.50); truck tires, $5; tractor tires, $15.
Furniture, $8; sofas require two tags; chair, one tag
Mattress, one tag per piece (mattress and boxed springs are two prices)
Television, one tag
For appliances, tags are $10 each and require one tag, except refrigerators which take two.
