Cleldon E. Grout, 85, of Kalona, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, in Pleasantview Nursing Home, Kalona, following a lengthy illness.
Services were Friday, June 18, 1999, in Peterseim Funeral Home, Kalona, with the Reverend David L. Yoder officiating. Burial was in South Sharon Center Cemetery, rural Riverside.
Born August 19, 1913, in rural Riverside, Johnson County, he was the son of Lucious and Emma (Schenk) Grout. He attended rural school and served in the United States Army during World War II, 1942-1946.
He was a retired farmer and a member of South Sharon Methodist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Orval Grout, Kalona.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Evelyn Grout.
Memorials may be made to South Sharon Cemetery or Pleasantview Home.
