Collene Mayrie Blakely, 75, formerly of Golden Valley, Minn., passed away Jan. 4, 2022, at her home in Eugene, Ore. Collene’s passing had been expected and was a peaceful transition. She has been cremated and a celebration of life will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at noon at the Kalona City Park, shelter B. This is the enclosed shelter and guests should use the east drive into the park. A private family burial will be held at Nutmeg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the National Ataxia Foundation.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Millard and Zula Perry; two sisters: Nancy Crowther and Glenna Green; a baby brother; her husband: Norman Blakely; and “Partner in Crime” Bryant Graham.
Survivors include her son: Perry Blakely of Seattle, Wash.; three daughters: Vicky Rarrick of Stow, Ohio, Norma (Bob) Bayers of Minneapolis, Minn., and Penni (Joel) Cotton of Springfield, Ore.; her sister: Delores McCuddin of Sioux City, Iowa; brother: Victor Finch of Old Hickory, Tenn.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
