Christina Cook, four-year-old daughter of Rich and Tami Cook of Kalona was selected as a state finalist in the Miss Iowa American Coed Pageant, set for September 4-6 in Des Moines.
The Pageant is for girls ages 3 through 17, each competing within their own age division. Winners receive cash awards, full modeling scholarships, official crowns and banners and transportation to Disney World in Florida to compete for the national title.
Cook attends Sunrise Childcare, Inc., in Wellman and studies dance with Dana Smith in Kalona.
She will participate in the art, photogenic, model and talent competition, as well as evening wear, introduction and interview in the petite-princess division of the competition.
She is the granddaughter of Joyce Donham, Iowa City, Harold Poggenpohl, Bellevue and Kathy Cook of Washington. Her great-grandmother is Erma Manning of Washington.
Sponsors are R. C. Insulation, J M Construction & Landscaping, Top Knotch Antique Repair and Restoration as well as family members and friends.
