IMS soccer players honored
Five Iowa Mennonite School soccer players were honored by being named to the Southeast Iowa Superconference all-conference team.
Senior Luke Gingerich was a first-team selection. Juniors Daniel Yoder and Tim Yoder were honored on the second-team. Honorable mentions were seniors Chuck Miller and Shawn Slaubaugh.
Highland’s Sweeting, Burich named to second-team, all-SEISC
Highland senior setter Jenny Sweeting and senior hitter Krista Burich were named to the second-team of the North Division of Southeast Iowa Superconference volleyball squad. Senior Jesi Hawkins and junior Jessica Snyder were named honorable mentions. The Huskies had their first winning season in several years this year.
Bock plays for Luther College
Jennifer Bock, a junior at Luther College, is a member of the 1999-2000 Norse basketball team. Bock is a 1996 graduate of Iowa Mennonite School and is the daughter of Marcus and Diane Bock from Lone Tree.
Youth wrestlers invited to Highland Wrestling camp
Youth wrestlers in third through eighth grade are invited to enroll in the Highland High School Wrestling Camp held Saturday, November 20 from 8:00 to 12:00 and Sunday, November 21 from 1:00 to 3:00.
Wrestlers will have a chance to learn from the Highland wrestling coaching staff and team as well as some past Highland wrestlers. Instruction will be given on takedowns, top and bottom moves, pinning combinations, and match preparation and correct drilling techniques.
Participants may register with the Highland High School secretary before November 13 or on the first day of camp. Camp fee is $20.00 and includes a camp tee-shirt. Call Shawn Kreman at (319) 646-2942 for more information.
