A number of area students received degrees during commencement ceremonies this spring.

Jeana Greiner, daughter of Patty and Roger Greiner of West Chester, received a Bachelor of Arts from Coe College, Cedar Rapids, May 23. A 1995 graduate of Mid-Prairie High School, she majored in elementary education/liberal studies and also received a professional teaching certificate.

Graceland

Clifford William Chapman of Kalona received a BA degree in Business Administration from Graceland College, Lamoni May 16 during commencement ceremonies at which Vice-President Al Gore delivered the address.

UNI

Three area students received degrees from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, May 8.

They are Kari Miller, Iowa City, a BA in elementary education, Eldrew Miller, Kalona, BA in marketing and Mark Strabala, Riverside, BA in education with studies in communication and theater.

Among the students who received degrees from Iowa State University are Robin Rourke, Bachelor of Science, agricultural business; Amy Nicole Swartzendruber, Bachelor of Science, Public Service and Administration in Agriculture; Kara Nicole Troyer, Bachelor of Science, psychology; Andrea Whetstine, Bachelor of Science, marketing; Ryan P. Dermody, Bachelor of Science, animal science, all of Iowa City; Shannon Brinning, Bachelor of Science, animal science and Christine Birney, Bachelor of Science, agricultural business, both of Washington. Daniel Spielbauer, Master of Science, Microbiology, Riverside; Karen Sue Greiner, Bachelor of Arts, advertising and Thomas Russell Hill, Bachelor of Science, elementary education, both of Wellman.

Cedarville

Shawn Miller, son of Leon and Joy Miller of Kalona, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Cedarville College, Cedarville, Ohio. He is a 1994 graduate of Iowa Mennonite School.
