Four graduates of Iowa Mennonite School were awarded Kay Bandelier Gorsline Business Scholarships for study at Goshen College, Goshen, Indiana.
They are Gretchen Brenneman, daughter of Michael and Kristen Brenneman, Steven J. Rhodes, son of Dean and Becky Rhodes, Carl E. Bender, son of Ray and Jody Bender and Angela Hershberger, daughter of Nelson and Sue Hershberger, all of Kalona.
The scholarships are worth $1000-$3,000 annually for new and returning students majoring in communication, depending on financial need. Recipients must have at least a 920 SAT score (20 on the ACT) and have a 3.0 GPA. They also must rank in the top 15 percent of their high school graduating class or score at least 1000 on the SAT or 24 on the Act or have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5
Bluffton
Kenna Kristine Swartzendruber, daughter of Karen and Woody Swartzendruber of Hiawatha, received a Tuition Equalization Scholarship Program award, with honors, to attend Bluffton College, Bluffton, Ohio, this fall. She is a 1999 graduate of Iowa Mennonite School.

Stephanie Yoder of rural Kalona and a 1999 graduate of Mid-Prairie High School was awarded a $500 resident scholar award from the University of Northern Iowa.
