ESPN2 was set to join the local Triax Cablevision lineup this month, as well as the Disney Channel. Although Disney made it, ESPN2 has been delayed due to additional equipment needed for the transmission.
Cable officials have assured City Administrator Doug Morgan “that they have ordered the equipment and will set it up as soon as it arrives.
He explained that “they had expected to start February 1, then found that they had to have some additional parts to get ESPN2.”
Last month, Triax announced it would add ESPN2 and the Disney Channel to those with expanded basic cable service. The company also announced additional cable outlets will be available to customers at no additional monthly charge.
HBO Plus, a new premium channel, is available to all HBO customers at no extra charge.
To accommodate the new programming, FX (Channel 33) will be removed from the lineup. Channel 33 will become the ESPN 2 channel.
Triax Cablevision is very excited about the new spirit, new attitude and new value that has provided improved products and services to its customers noted Regional Director of Operations Ric Hanson.
“These changes will continue to be part of our plan to increase the value of our product as we move toward the year 2000,” he said.
