Ernst criticizes without offering solutions

Posted

I find it sad Senator Ernst uses so much energy to criticize President Biden on his policies when it would be nice to hear from her what solutions she proposes to help Iowans she describes as “worried”.

What ideas does she have to help the people of Iowa during a pandemic that impacts so many facets of our lives?

I find it interesting her complaints about the executive orders President Biden signed into law were in part about COVID relief and immigration.  Why does Senator Ernst think it reckless to spend money on curbing the coronavirus?  As a nurse, I see the impact this disease has on Iowans, and it is overwhelming.

Regarding immigration, one of the executive orders President Biden made was to stop the construction of a border wall near Mexico.  I think constructing a wall sends a cruel message to our neighbors to the south that they are not welcome. As did the other bad policy by the past administration of a travel ban on Muslim countries. Another bad message.

I know there are opposing viewpoints on these issues but, I would like to see our lawmakers work at unifying people and solving problems.  Where I work if we have a complaint, we are also challenged to bring a solution along with it.

What if Senator Ernst would submit her reflections on her efforts and accomplishments rather than posting an article with a headline title in bold print that speaks of another’s “failures”.
