Ezra Jay Miller was born on Nov. 1, 1935, in Johnson County, Iowa, the son of Noah J. and Elizabeth (Lehman) Miller. On October 17, 1957, he was united in marriage to Mattie Yoder. God blessed them with 64 years of wedded life. Upon his confession of faith, he was baptized in the Old Order Amish Church and remained faithful until his death Dec. 15, 2021.
He leaves to mourn his departure his sorrowing companion Mattie; one son: Melvin Richard and Alicia of Wellman; a daughter: Rosetta Arlene Miller at home; two grandchildren: Mattie Anne Miller and Jonathan Richard Miller; two brothers: Freeman Ray and Mary Miller, Edwin Joseph Miller; two sisters: Susie Amelia Miller and Katie Irene Miller; one sister-in-law: Arlene Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Noah and Elizabeth; two brothers: Truman and Lovina Miller and Levi and Lydia Miller; a sister: Mary Magdalena Miller; one sister-in-law: Dorothy Miller.
Funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, at Laban Miller residence. Burial was in the Brenneman Cemetery.
