Fans celebrate Jazdia’s Homecoming at TrekFest 39
An overcast morning with temperatures in the 70’s created perfect conditions for Trekkies to cosplay at TrekFest 39 on Saturday, June 29. Cedar Rapids native Terry Farrell, who played Jazdia Dax in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, was present and available to fans who gathered for “Jazdia’s Homecoming,” the theme of this year’s event.

Fans lining the street cheered for Eastern Iowa’s own Terry Farrell, this year’s TrekFest celebrity guest, as she rode by at the front of the parade.

Terry Farrell made Winson Leaton’s dreams come true at Kalona Brewing Company Saturday; she holds a can of Trillsner Pilsner, the special edition beer he brewed for TrekFest39. The trill spots on the label were inspired by Farrell’s character, a trill, on DS9.
