Iowa State University Extension’s Farm Financial Planning Program can help decide whether or not a change in your operation will be profitable.

The Farm Financial Planning Program is a confidential service provided to individuals who want to “gain a better understanding of their financial condition” said Mike Duffy, ISU Extension economist and professor in the department of economics. The program helps analyze profitability, liquidity, solvency and risk-bearing ability.

Individuals who complete the Farm Financial Planning Program have a better understanding of their business and how future changes might affect it.

Currently, grants though the US Department of Agriculture and other sources allow this service to be provided at no cost. Contact your local county ISU Extension Office to set up an appointment or obtain a “Farm Financial Planning Program” (PM 1775) brochure.
