The 70th Florang-Desing reunion was held June 27 in the Wellman Senior Center. After a potluck dinner, correspondence from Richard and Sue Pailliotet from Llano, California and Mary Florang of Norway, Iowa were read.
Pictures and family history materials were displayed and during introductions, each person recalled school day memories.
Special anniversaries were noted for Leroy and Lavera Muller of Iowa City, 50 years, Wilma and Lamont Kelley of Washington, 60 years, and Glen and Elsie Gingerich of Wellman, 62 years.
During the past year, daughters were born to Dwayne and Harriet Duwa of Wellman, Carmela and Tom Ulin of Wellman, and Jason and Charity Walton of Riverside. Jared and Margo Duwa of Kalona and Rob and Julie Altenhofen of Wellman had sons.
Family members who died during the past year were Ollie Wiles, Pat Young and Louise Klatick of Washington, Helen Martin of Parnell and Francis Rummelhart of Natchez, Washington.
Attending the reunion were Martha Hammen, Louis Pailliotet, Dorothy Stumpf and Clifford and Kathleen Duwa of Washington; Ken and Hazel Muller of Hills; Tom, Belinda, Lizz and Tim Muller of Cedar Rapids; Henry and Nadine Lyphout of Vinton; Diana Cox and Tom Stockman of Iowa City; Mary Stockman of Oxford; Anna Moore and Lila Grout of Kalona; Arden, Marie, Karla and Austin Moore of Coralville; Glen and Elsie Guengerich and Clarence and Violet Miller of Wellman and Sister Connie Paillotet of Hardin, Montana.
The next reunion will be June 25, 2000 in the Wellman Senior Center.
