Fans will get a first look at Mid-Prairie, Lone Tree and Highland football against other teams this week as they all play in a scrimmage.
Mid-Prairie will host the Gator Bowl on Friday with a scrimmage against Iowa City Regina and their biggest fundraiser, a player auction. The auction is set for 6:30 p.m. on Friday at Mid-Prairie High School.
Auctioneer Dwight Duwa will be auctioning off Mid-Prairie players for four hours of labor with proceeds going to the football program. According to Mid-Prairie football coach Pete Cavanagh said the team will be raising money for sideline jackets, a sideline cover to prevent pooling water, a new sideline video system and money to pay for five non-contracted coaches.
After the auction, the Golden Hawks will host Iowa City Regina for a scrimmage.
Highland will host Louisa-Muscatine for a junior varsity and varsity scrimmage. The junior varsity team will start things off at 5:30 p.m. with varsity to follow.
Lone Tree will take a trip to Central City to scrimmage the Wildcats, a playoff qualifier last season. The scrimmage will start at 6 p.m. with admission being an item for the canned food drive.
