When it comes to entertainment that is inexpensive, requires neither assembly nor batteries and lasts a more than a lifetime, the Friends of the Kalona Public Library have it all. The “it” is a book and there will be hundreds of them available at the annual fund raising bookstall sponsored by the Friends group.
Set for Saturday, March 20, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the library, the sale has everything from hardbound and paperbacks to computer software and some videos.
Proceeds will benefit the library’s automation project whose total cost is estimated at $28,000. Part of the cost will be covered by a grant, but the library is still looking at raising more than $20,000.
Donations of books (especially children’s ones), computer software, videos and audio tapes may be left at the library. For more information, call the library, 656-3501.
