The Mid-Prairie eighth grade Gold volleyball team raised it record to 6-2 with a 15-5, 15-6 thumping of Clear Creek-Amana last Wednesday at Tiffin.

Coach Eric Thornton reported that the best bumping and passing allowed the Hawks to come away with the marathon victory. Tarrah Berg, Caitlin Ruffin, and Melissa Stumpf all played with inspired determination.

The Hawks Ebony and Ivory teams each split with the Clippers. The Ebony team won 15-5 and lost 12-15. Michelle Kron and Kylee Duwa each led the way offensively. The Ivory team won 15-4 and lost a heartbreaker 12-15 amidst a loud, partisan crowd. Thornton praised the girls for keeping their concentration and playing well despite the hostile playing conditions. Courtney Jedele led the team with five service points.

The Ebony team season record stands at 3-1-4 and the Ivory team at 4-0-4.
