The Mid-Prairie boys and girls track & field teams both finished first at the state-qualifying meet in Eddyville on Thursday night. The Golden Hawk girls had 16 automatic qualifiers, and the Mid-Prairie boys had 12.

In addition to the two automatic qualifiers from each event, the next eight times or distances from the 2A state-qualifying meets advance to the state meet as well. On Friday evening, the girls 4x800 was included among the unofficial state meet qualifiers, along with the boys 4x800, the boys distance medley, and Jayse Yoder in the 1600-meter run.
