The Mid-Prairie eighth grade girls basketball team opened their season by sweeping Clear Creek-Amana.
The Gold team cruised over the Clippers 37-11. Tarrah Berg and Kyra Hershberger led the way offensively inside with 16 and 11 points respectively. Alison Hartzler added eight points with some accurate outside shooting.
The Platinum team was also victorious, with a hard fought 17-12 win over CC-A. A tough 2-3 zone, led by Rachael Endecott, helped to shut down the Clippers offense. Six girls scored for the Platinum team, with Renee Schrock leading the team with six points and Jodi Campbell adding three to put the Hawks over the top.
