WASHINGTON
Following a brief special meeting Friday, Feb. 9, the Washington County Board of Health unanimously approved advertising for a new administrator replacing Emily Tokheim who resigned earlier this month. The resignation, effective Feb. 29, is for “personal reasons” that includes her new position with the state Health and Human Services department, her husband’s new position in Des Moines and a second child due this year.
During the meeting, the board voted to accept applications from Feb. 12 to March 1, set the salary range from $75,000 to $95,000 depending on qualifications/experience, plus benefits, and noted that Tokheim will help set up the transition procedures prior to her leaving. Board members also reviewed the official job description and expressed appreciation to Tokheim for her service that officially began with Washington County in November 2021.
