Board of Directors Meeting
Monday, March 11, 2024
5:00 p.m. – High School Board Room
The meeting was called to order at 5:02 p.m. by President Nate Robinson.
Roll call was taken with Joslin Schott, Rachel Longbine, Karen Fink, Dan Ruth, Monica Jepson and Nate Robinson present. John O’Leary was absent. Also in attendance were Ken Crawford, Superintendent, Angela Hazelett, Secondary Principal, Jane O’Leary, Elementary Principal and Sue Rich, Board Secretary.
Ruth made a motion to approve the agenda, as presented. Seconded by Longbine.
Motion carried 6-0
Consent Agenda Items:
Minutes: Approval of the February 12, 2024 regular meeting minutes
Approval of the February 26, 2024 work session minutes
Financial Reports: Approval of the February financial reports
Payment of Bills: Approval of the following March bills

Schott made a motion to approve the items on the consent agenda. Seconded by Longbine.
Motion carried 6-0
Jody Fink, Athletic Director, gave an overview of the winter sports as well as previewing the spring sports. Some of the highlights were Luke Guseman making the podium at state wrestling and Sarah Burton being the player of the year in the conference and being academic all state.
Sue Rich, Business Manager, went over the new proposed tax notice as well as the budget estimate for 2025 showing tax rate and public hearing which was set at the February meeting.
Sue Rich, Business Manager went over the FY23 Audit Report.
Ruth made a motion to approve the FY23 Audit Report. Seconded by Jepson.

Longbine made a motion to approve the Washington County Riverboat Foundation resolution for the following grant application. Seconded by Schott.

Highland CSD-Highland Secondary Digital Signs - $137,454
Mr Crawford went over first reading on board policies 705.02-Credit and Procurement Cards, 401.11-Employee Orientation, 401.12-Employee Use of Cell Phones, 404.12-R(1)-Employee Use of Cell Phones-Regulation, 401.13-Highland CSD Staff Technology Policy, 401.13-E(1)-Technology Acceptable Use Contract for Highland CSD Employees, 401.14-Employee Expression, 402.01-release of Credit Information, 402.02-Child Abuse Reporting, 402.02-R(1)-Child Abuse Reporting Regulation. These will be brought back to the next meeting for the second reading.
Longbine made a motion to approve the below board policies. Seconded by Jepson.

A public hearing on the proposed budget will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 5:00 pm in the high school boardroom.
A work session will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 5:05 pm in the high school boardroom.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 8, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. in the high school boardroom.
Longbine made a motion to adjourn at 6:10 p.m. Seconded by Jepson. Motion carried 6-0
