Special Meeting
Monday – February 24, 2025
5:00 p.m. – Highland Board Room
The special meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by President Nate Robinson.
Joslin Schott, Johnny O’Leary, Karen Fink, Rachel Longbine, Dan Ruth and Nate Robinson were present. Also present Ken Crawford, Superintendent and Autumn Moyer, Board Secretary.
Schott made a motion to approve the agenda. Seconded by Longbine.
Motion carried 6-0
Mr. Crawford presented the results of the 4-day week survey. The survey was completed by 103 parents, 75 students, and 50 teachers. The results of the survey were overwhelmingly positive and in favor of the 4-day week.
The board met with four individuals to fill the vacant School Board Director #3 seat by appointment. Ruth and Robinson thanked them all for their time and interest in filling the position.
Ruth made a motion to appoint Aaron Friederich to fill the vacant School Board Director #3 seat. Seconded by Schott.
Motion carried 6-0
Crawford informed the board on the next steps with the bond issue being appealed to district court. The contestants have appealed the decision made by the contest court. We are waiting on district court with no timeline on when next steps in this process will begin.
Longbine made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by O’Leary.
Motion carried 6-0.
The special meeting adjourned at 6:42 p.m.
