NEW LONDON
Keeping the ball rolling and not looking to stop the momentum anytime soon, Highland girls golf continued its winning ways on the road in a triangular at New London on April 16.
The Huskies were the top dogs at the Deerwood Golf Course, finishing with a first place score of 203.
Runner-up went to the host school New London who scored 218 and Mediapolis ended with 241 to place third.
Top three in the individual leaderboard was all Highland.
Standout junior Adisyn Prottsman led the way for the Huskies by earning medalist honors with 43, senior Adeline Krotz earned runner-up medalist honors with 49, and junior Emersyn Schultz finished in third with 52.
Freshman Joslyn Prottsman completed the day with a score of 59 to tie for ninth and fellow freshman Autumn Guseman shot 62 to tie for 13th. The last Husky to post a score was Caddisy Duster as the junior tied for 15th with a score of 67.
New London was led by the duo of Stevey Wintermeyer and Sydney Kracht who both shot identical 53’s to tie for fourth. Mediapolis was led by the efforts of freshman Katelyn Wischmeier, tying for seventh with 57.
Highland 202, Louisa-Muscatine 265
Claiming another conference dual victory at home, the Huskies (11-0) collected a convincing victory over Louisa-Muscatine (1-3) last Thursday.
Raising their conference record to 4-0, this is the third consecutive season the Huskies have defeated the Falcons with Louisa-Muscaine’s last win over Highland coming in 2022.
It was the usual suspects for Highland who led the way in the win. Emersyn Schultz earned medalist honors with a first place score of 47 and right behind her was fellow junior Adisyn Prottsman who shot 48 to earn runner-up medalist honors.
Continuing to produce strong showings in her senior year, Adeline Krotz ended with 53 and continuing to find her stride in their freshman year, Joslyn Prottsman finished with 55.
Autumn Guseman was the next highest Husky on the leaderboard as the freshman shot 66. Junior Cassidy Duster rounds out the scoring of Highland with an 80.
Up next for Highland is going on the road to face conference rival Columbus on May 1.
