The Highland girls basketball team started the season with a loss to West Burlington, 53-21, Nov. 30.
Head coach Jerry Lippert was not happy with his team’s performance.
Lippert said, “We did not play very well and we played with little enthusiasm.”
Jenny Sweeting led Highland with six points while Anita Zahs and Krista Burich each added four points.
Sweeting and Zahs led the defense with six and five rebounds respectively.
Sweeting stole the ball four times while Zahs grabbed three steals.
Sweeting leads team to victory
Jenny Sweeting had a career high 29 points, 10 steals and six rebounds to lead the Highland Huskies to a victory, 60-40 against Fairfield Maharishi, Dec. 2.
Coach Lippert was pleased with the way his team played.
“The kids played extremely hard the whole game. It was a big improvement from last game.”
Michelle Ossman added 12 points while Krista Burich and Zahs grabbed five boards.
Coach Lippert said, “Anita Zahs continues to play good and this was Michelle Ossman’s best performance to date.”
Highland is currently 2-1.
