Since 2013, Sinclair Tractor has awarded more than $78,000 to area FFA students who have excelled in their achievements and who plan to further their education in the agricultural field of study.
Mackinze Hora, a member of the Highland FFA Chapter is one such recipient. Hora is the daughter of Pat and Traci Hora of Ainsworth, and sister to Kelsey and Katlin. She will be attending DMACC in the fall to major in Agribusiness.
When asked what FFA has taught her, Hora said, “FFA has taught me the value of hard work, commitment and dedication”. Her proudest moment was qualifying for the National FFA competition with her Marketing Plan CDE her junior year. Hora encourages “anyone to give FFA a try as it gives you connections that will benefit you in the future”.
Bridget Fisher, a member of the Mid-Prairie FFA Chapter was also awarded a Sinclair Tractor scholarship. Fisher is the daughter of Mark and Renee Fisher of Wellman, and sister to Brock and Brendan. She will be attending Iowa State University this fall to major in Ag & Life Sciences Education.
When asked the benefits of being in FFA, Fisher said, “FFA has taught me to grow my communication skills. I have been able to get to know many different people through simple conversations. I also have learned how wide agriculture is and that there is a place for everyone in agriculture.” Fisher served as the Mid-Prairie FFA Chapter President and was a Southeast District Officer.
Other 2022 Sinclair Tractor FFA Scholarship recipients include: Hailey Heishman, HLV FFA; Sydney Jones, Central Lee FFA; and Taylor Mayhue, North Scott FFA.
