HILLS
The Hills City Council met for a regular meeting at the Hills Community Center on Monday, Nov. 27.
The council decided to waive a $500 fee for the resident at 204 Oak St. This is coming from an issue where the resident’s dog attacked local animals, ran loose and was deemed dangerous. Of the dogs at the residence, one was rehomed and another was placed in the care of an animal shelter.
Mayor Tim Kemp argued that seeking the $500 fee would be too much of a hassle. Kemp added, “If it’s a punishment we’re looking at, which I think is what the $500 fine is, I think by them removing the dogs, that’s probably a bigger punishment.”
Following waiver of the court date, the council set their next work session. They typically hold one in November but decided to delay this work session to December to give new city clerk Adriane Sedlacek some time to settle in. This November meeting was her first.
The council then needed to change a date for their second December meeting, which falls on Christmas. Their second December meeting will now be held on Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Hills Community Center.
Next meeting: The Hills City Council will next meet on Monday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Hills Community Center.
