Homer J. Yoder, 93, of Keenesburg, Colorado, died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, in Bonell Good Samaritan Center, Greeley, Colorado.

Bedside services were held after he passed away and, at the request of the family, he was remembered in the Celebratin of Live Service held July 8 at Bonell. The body was cremated and a private family service will be hald at a later date with the Reverend Francis Xavier officiating. A tree will be planted in his memory.

Born December 8, 1905, in Kalona, he was the son of Jephthah P. and Mary (Kauffman) Yoder.

He married Anna Hochstetler March 5, 1925 in Kalona. Mrs. Hochstetler died April 28, 1967. He later married Myrtle Barnhart.

Mr. Yoder farmed in the Kalona area before going to work for Standard Oil. He delivered gas for 10 years. He was a member of the Kalona volunteer fire department.

He relocated to Julesburg, Colorado where he worked in a sugar beet factory. He returned to Iowa and worked for Maplecrest Turkey Processing Plant. He transferred to Colorado with Maplecrest.

Mr. Yoder later worked in several turkey and farming operations before retiring in Keenesburg.

Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Gladys and Floyd Gingerich, Green Valley, Arizona, Mary Jane Wolfe, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Carol Alain, Wildwood, Florida; two sisters, Lydia Yoder and Dortha Stutzman, both of Wellman; two step-sisters, Alta Hochstetler, Nampa, Idano and Wilma Hauder, Julesburg, Colorado; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous step-children and step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Sarah Mast, one sister, Fannie Yoder, one brother, Ernest Yoder, two step-brothers, Del Mast and Lester Mast, and one grandson, James Wolfe.
