BURLINGTON

For the second straight year the conference crown belongs to Highland girls golf as the Huskies continue to find success this season by placing first at the Southeast Iowa Super Conference Tournament last Monday.

A total of 15 teams battled at the Flint Hills Golf Course in Burlington and Highland stood head and shoulders above the competition, taking the top spot with a score of 370. Runner-up was Wapello with 401 and Columbus was third with 403.

The Highland junior duo of Emersyn Schultz and Adisyn Prottsman played phenomenally as they were the only golfers in a field of 73 to finish with sub 90 scores.

Schultz shot 87 to finish first as the individual conference champion and Adisyn Prottsman was right behind as the runner-up with 88. Both of these talented Huskies were named first-team all-conference.

Joslyn Prottsman came up big for Highland as the freshman finished with 97 to place 10th, earning a second-team all-conference nod. Rounding out Highland’s first place team score was senior Adeline Krotz who shot 98 to place 13th and being named third-team all-conference.

Autumn Guseman and Cassidy Duster also recorded scores for Highland with Guseman placing 39th with 116 and Duster ending with 124 to place 56th.

Hillcrest results

After 18-holes of play against conference competition, the Ravens finished with 471 to place 11th.

Leading the way for Hillcrest with a top 25 finish to earn honorable mention all-conference honors was Claire Withrow as the junior shot 104 to place 20th.

Hillcrest sophomores Ava Miller and Brynna O’Rourke ended with identical scores of 116 with Miller placing 40th and O’Rourke placing 41st.

The last Raven to contribute to the team score was Izzy Frederick. The sophomore carded 135 to place 64th. Senior Natalie Meganathan also recorded a scorecard for Hillcrest, shooting 139 to place 68th.

Lone Tree results

Representing Lone Tree at this year’s conference meet was Rylie Viers. As Viers was the lone Lady Lion to compete at the SEISC tourney, Lone Tree did not post a team score and did not place in the final standings.

Viers, a sophomore, shot 75 in the front nine and 67 in the back nine to finish with 142. This final score placed her 70th overall.
