The Iowa Pork Industry Center (IPIC) asks pork producers to attend the April 6, Iowa Communications Network (ICN) program featuring information about market trends, the world pork export outlook and a summary of the 1998 Iowa Swine Business Record results.
John Lawrence, Iowa State University Extension agricultural economist, will provide a market trend update from the March 26 USDA Hogs & Pigs Report, and will present information from a contract study he’s conducting. Tom Baas of IPIC will summarize results from the 1998 Iowa Swine Business Records, and Dermot Hayes, ISU agricultural economist, will provide a view of the world pork outlook, including export market potential. Time for questions and discussion will be provided.
There is no cost to attend. The ICN site for the area is West High School, Iowa City. For more information, contact Gene Mohling, ISU/Johnson County Extension Education Director, (319)337-2145.
