The Iowa Mennonite School graduating class of 1954 held its 45th class reunion June 26 in the Carriage House, rural Kalona.

Norman Kennel served as Master of Ceremonies of the event. Alvin Miller gave a slide presentation of a recent trip to Honduras.

Former classmates reminisced and each received a booklet of letters from other class members.

Class members and spouses attending were Norman and Ermadine (Miller) Boshart, Wayland; Lewis and Lois (Yoder) Brubacher, Waterloo, Ontario; Jim and Darlene (Eichelberger) Christner, Elkhart, Indiana; Edith Detwiller, Ann Arbor, Michigan; Don and Wilma (Troyer) Gingerich, Wellman; Norman and Tillie (Bachmann) Kennel, Iowa City; John Mark and Ruth (Yoder) King, Parnell; Joe and Betty (Roth) Krabill, Iowa City; Marion and Marlene (Yoder) Leichty, Mt. Pleasant; Phil and Dorothy (Yoder) Marner, Kalona; Alvin and Marianna Miller, Kalona; Elton and Anita (Marner) Pfile, Ridott, Illinois; Vernon and Mary Elva (Swartzendruber) Ropp, Kalona; Tim and Margaret (Swartzendruber) Ryan, Denver, Pennsylvania; Harold and Evelyn Troyer, Blue Grass; John Troyer, Houston, Texas; Jerry and Loretta (Bender) Yoder, Wellman.

Next reunion, the class’ 50th, is scheduled for the year 2004.
