Ivan “Lindy” Redlinger was born Nov. 29, 1930, in Keota, Iowa, the son of Bernard and Lula (Baker) Redlinger. Ivan graduated from Wellman High School. He joined the Navy following graduation. On Jan. 22, 1955, Ivan was united in marriage to Muriel Jean Spears in Kinross, Iowa. Ivan was the Mayor of Wellman and worked at the Wellman Farm Center. He enjoyed Iowa sports, coffee at DJ’s, Mass at church, spending time with family, puzzles and driving around. Ivan was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Ivan passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, at his home in Wellman at the age of 94 years.
Ivan is survived by two sons: Tony (Jean) Redlinger of Tiffin and Scott (Christine) Redlinger of The Villages, Florida; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and daughter: Pamela Redlinger.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wellman. Rev. Bill Roush will officiate. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m., on Sunday at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman where a Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m.
