Services were Saturday, December 11, in Powell Funeral Home, Wellman, with the Reverend Zuiko Redding of the Iowa City Zen Center officiating. Burial is at a later date in the Piersol Cemetery.

Born July 15, 1936 in Iowa City, he was the son of Harry and Orpha (Wade) Adams. He grew up in Wellman, graduated from Wellman High School and served four years in the United States Air Force.

Jack Eugene Adams, 63, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, December 9, 1999, in his home of pancreatic cancer.

Services were Saturday, December 11, in Powell Funeral Home, Wellman, with the Reverend Zuiko Redding of the Iowa City Zen Center officiating. Burial is at a later date in the Piersol Cemetery.

Born July 15, 1936 in Iowa City, he was the son of Harry and Orpha (Wade) Adams. He grew up in Wellman, graduated from Wellman High School and served four years in the United States Air Force.

He was united in marriage to Zakea Aossey October 5, 1956 in Washington. The couple moved to Cedar Rapids where Mr. Adams founded J.E. Adams Industries in 1972. Every year his company would sponsor a Christmas party for 85-100 underprivileged children, giving them food, clothing and fun. He was a member of C.E.M.A.

Survivors include his wife, Zakea; three children and their spouses, Tracy and Glenn Roberts of Denver, Colorado, Jackie and Chris Flanigan of Sun Valley, Idaho and Jack Adams Jr. and his fiancé, Stephanie Roberts of Scottsdale, Arizona; and five grandsons, Chad and Cory Roberts, Bobby, Wesley and Tanner Flanigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Adams.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
