A graveside service for Jane Elizabeth Kallaus, 94, of Iowa City, will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Richmond with Father Bill Roush officiating. Beatty-Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
A memorial fund has been established in the name of Jane Elizabeth Kallaus. Jane Kallaus died Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Jane Kallaus was born July 8, 1927, the son of Roy John and Maude Edythe (Welte) Kallaus in Richmond, Iowa. She attended Holy Trinity Schools, graduated from Kalona High School and Mercy in Iowa City with her nursing degree.
She was a nurse her entire life traveling the United States helping children of migrant workers. She returned to Iowa in 2012.
Survivors include three siblings: Norman Kallaus of Iowa City, Louise Sattler of Kalona, and Angie (Tom)Hofer of Joetown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jane in death were her parents; brothers: Gary, Robert and Thomas; sisters: Pauline Hershberger, Yvonne Davis and Mary Kathyrn Barry.
