Joan Horesowsky, 58, of Richmond, passed peacefully from this life following a lengthy illness, on Thursday, May 4, 2023, surrounded by her family.  A memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond with Father Bill Roush and Deacon Derick Cranston officiating. Per her wishes, her body has been cremated and a private burial will be held later. The family will greet friends Monday, May 8, from 3-7 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Parish Life Center in Richmond. A memorial fund has been established for Richmond Park and Hospice of Washington County. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Joan Annette (Thomann) Horesowsky was born Nov. 14, 1964, in Iowa City, the daughter of Clement “Joe” and Elizabeth “Betty” (Frueh) Thomann. She graduated from Highland High School in 1983. On Oct. 5, 1985, she was united in marriage to Patrick Horesowsky at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverside. Joan worked at the University of Iowa for 25 years, her last position was in procurement services. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and enjoyed baking, traveling, working and the friends she made there, and spending time with her family. She especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Joan was loved by everyone that knew her.

Survivors include her husband: Pat; two sons: John and Bryan (Tara) Horesowsky; three grandchildren: Faye, Wes and June; her mother: Betty Thomann; mother-in-law: Joanne Horesowsky; four sisters: Jane (Dave) Goesch, Mary Jo (Dave) LeBlanc, Donna (Tom) Noldan, and Rose (Doug) Amelon; one brother: Ken (Becky) Thomann; sister-in-law: Charlotte Thomann; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Preceding Joan in death was her father; her brother: Ron; and father-in-law: Richard Horesowsky.
