Residents interested in future jobs and careers may get first-hand knowledge at Washington High School when Kirkwood Community College, the City of Washington, the Washington Economic Development Group and area employers present a job/career fair October 29-30.
More than 30 exhibitors will present a variety of displays and seminars, said Kirkwood Washington County Director Nancy Rash. “We have designed this fair to show people the choices available in our county,” Rash said. “We know that educating our current and future job force is vital to everyone. This fair is an important step toward that goal.”
Job/career fair attendees include students from Mid-Prairie, WACO, Highland and IMS as well as Washington High School students Friday from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Adults interested in career changes or training to enhance job skills also may attend the fair. Specific presentation about careers and training will be presented in 3:30-6 p.m. programs October 29 and morning session October 30 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Rash invites area employers to participate in the job/career fair. “We have more than 30 companies involved now, and we would welcome more,” she said. More information about the event is available by calling Nancy Rash, Kirkwood Washington Center, 319-653-4655.
