Joyce Terhune, 80, of Lone Tree, died Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Pioneer Park in Lone Tree. Funeral Services for Joyce will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Lone Tree. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Visitation for Joyce will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Joyce Ann (Meyer) Terhune was born on June 18, 1943 in Lone Tree, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Marilynn (Eden) Meyer. Joyce was a 1961 graduate of Lone Tree High School. On May 3, 1964, Joyce was united in marriage to Wallace Terhune in Lone Tree. Joyce worked for 43 years at The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics as the head scheduler in the neurology department, retiring in 2004. While working at UIHC, Joyce was a university vanpool driver. Joyce was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Lone Tree and a former member of Elan Federated Club. She enjoyed bowling; going with her sister, Janette on outings to the casino, Branson trips, weekly Weight Watcher meetings and traveling to Pat's to get their hair done. Joyce was known to many as the "angel lady”, as she made thousands of angels which she shared with many at craft shows.
Joyce will be deeply missed by her son, Jeff Terhune of Lone Tree, daughter, Julie (Jeff)
Quigley of Lone Tree; grandchildren, Jalynn (Brandon) McNeal, Jordan and Jacob Quigley; brother, David (Dixie) Meyer of Lone Tree; cousin, Larry Carpenter and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wally Terhune on February 6, 1991;
sister-in-infancy, Janet Meyer; sister, Janette Ulin and special aunt, Eva Eden.
